The Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 Management Pack for System Center Operations Manager monitors the Windows Application log on computers running Exchange 2010 and generates this alert when the events specified in the following Details table are logged.

Rule Name

The connection to the mailbox has failed.

Explanation

This Warning event indicates that the mobile device user's connection to the Exchange mailbox failed. This event may occur if the following conditions are true:

  • The mailbox specified in the event description is damaged.

  • A whole Microsoft Exchange database is damaged. Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync was unable to find the user's mailbox on the computer that has the Mailbox server role installed.

User Action

To resolve this warning, do one or more of the following:

  • Verify that the user can access Microsoft Office Outlook or Microsoft Outlook Web App.

  • Examine the Application log of the mailbox server. The Application log may indicate that there are damaged database or log files on the server specified in the event description.

  • Restore the database from backup.
