The Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 Management Pack for System Center Operations Manager monitors the Windows Application log on computers running Exchange 2010 and generates this alert when the events specified in the following Details table are logged.

The Microsoft Exchange Assistants Service startup is being delayed due to continuous crashes

Explanation

This Error event occurs when the Microsoft Exchange Assistants Service cannot start in a timely manner because the service continually crashes. The Exchange Assistants Service is installed on the Exchange server that is running the Mailbox Server Role. The Exchange Assistants Service is a required service, and it depends on the Microsoft Exchange Active Directory Service.

User Action

To resolve this problem, do one or more of the following:

  • Consider moving the Client Access Server server role or the Hub Transport server role to another Microsoft Exchange computer. For more information, see the following: How to Move an Exchange 2007 Client Access Server to New Hardware Keeping the Same Server Name.

  • Review the Application log and System log on your Exchange 2010 servers for related events. For example, events that occur immediately before and after this event may provide more information about the root cause of this error.

  • Resolve your issue by using self-support options, assisted support options, and other resources. You can access these resources from the Exchange Server Solutions Center. Alternatively, in the navigation pane, you can click Assisted Support Options to contact a Microsoft support professional.
