The Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 Management Pack for System Center Operations Manager monitors the Windows Application log on computers running Exchange 2010 and generates this alert when the events specified in the following Details table are logged.
To learn more about this alert, in Operations Manager, do one or more of the following:
- From the Operations Console, double-click this alert, and then
click the General tab. Review the description of the alert
that includes the variables specific to your environment.
- From the Operations Console, double-click this alert, and then
click the Alert Context tab. Review the logged events that
meet the criteria of this Operations Manager alert.

Explanation
This Warning event indicates that a mobile device user's attempt to perform a full-text search of their whole mailbox hosted on a computer that is running Microsoft Exchange failed. This event does not indicate that a user was unable to search the mailbox data that has been synchronized to their local device.
This event may occur if the following conditions are true:
- Full-text search is not enabled on the computer that is running
the Mailbox server role.
- The Microsoft Exchange Search
(MSExchangeSearch) service is not running on the Mailbox
server.
User Action
To resolve this event, consider the following options. These options apply to your ActiveSync users:
- If you do not want users to be able to search their mailbox
data on the server, no user action is required.
- If you want users to be able to search their mailbox data on
the server, do one or more of the following:
- Make sure that the MSExchangeSearch service is running
on your Mailbox servers.
- Make sure that you have enabled full text search on the
appropriate database on the Mailbox server. For more information,

- Make sure that the MSExchangeSearch service is running
on your Mailbox servers.
