The Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 Management Pack for System Center Operations Manager monitors the Windows Application log on computers running Exchange 2010 and generates this alert when the events specified in the following Details table are logged.

Rule Name

SMTP Connector rejected an incoming connection - the maximum number of connections has been reached - MSExchange Transport 1021.

Explanation

This Warning event indicates that a remote messaging server that is using the specified Receive connector has reached the maximum number of simultaneous incoming connections that the Receive connector can accept from a single IP address. This value is specified by the MaxInboundConnectionPerSource parameter on the Receive connector.

User Action

To resolve this warning, increase the value of the MaxInboundConnectionPerSource parameter on the Receive connector by using the Set-ReceiveConnector cmdlet in the Exchange Management Shell. The valid input range for this parameter is 1 to 10000. To disable the inbound connection per source limit on a Receive connector, enter a value of unlimited.
