This alert is generated when the protection agent on a specified computer cannot be contacted. Subsequent protection activities on this computer might fail if the connection is not established.


DPM is unable to contact the protected computer because one of the following has occurred:

  • There is a network issue.

  • The computer has been powered down.


The error conditions and recommended actions associated with each “Agent not reachable” alert are provided in the alert details.

To resolve this alert, perform one of the following steps:

  • Fix the issue manually by turning on the protected computer.

  • On the Agents tab in the Management task area, check the status of the agent. Click Refresh information to try to reconnect to the computer.

Resolved when: The protection agent is reachable, or no data is protected on the computer.
