Use the Welcome page of the Microsoft System Center Data Protection Manager (DPM) Setup Wizard to begin installing DPM.
Before you start the installation, verify that the DPM server meets all system requirements. For information about DPM system requirements, see DPM 2010 System Requirements (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=179151).
|DPM can be installed only to a partition formatted with the NTFS file system. To ease recovery in the event of boot partition failure, install DPM to a partition that is separate from the boot partition. If you choose to install a prerequisite software product from a shared folder, Setup adds the network path (UNC) of the shared folder to the Internet Explorer local intranet security zone for the duration of the installation. Install from a shared folder only if the share is hosted on a trusted site.|
Throughout the installation, the DPM Setup Wizard provides updates on the installation progress. If you have questions at any point in the process, click Help.
