In DPM, use the Recovery Wizard to recover data. When you recover data, you can use default settings or you can modify recovery options to specify the recovery location and security settings for the recovered data. To minimize the time required for recovery operations and to decrease the size of data being transferred, DPM uses on-the-wire compression for all recovery operations.

How to recover data

  1. In DPM Administrator Console, click Recovery on the navigation bar.

  2. Browse or search for the data you want to recover, and then, in the results pane, select the data.

  3. Available recovery points are indicated in bold on the calendar in the recovery points section. Select the bold dates for the recovery points you want to recover.

  4. In the Recoverable item pane, click to select the item you want to recover.

  5. In the Actions pane, select a recovery action: Recover or Show all recovery points. DPM starts the Recovery Wizard.

  6. Review your recovery selections, and click Next.

  7. Specify the type of recovery you would like to perform, and click Next.

  8. Specify your recovery options, and click Next.

  9. Review your recovery settings, and click Recover.
