Create remote connection profiles in
System Center 2012 Configuration Manager to enable
your users to remotely connect to work computers if they are not
connected to the domain or if they are connected over the
Internet.
Steps to Create a Remote Connection
Profile
Use the following required steps to create a remote
connection profile by using the Create Remote Connection Profile
Wizard.
Supplemental Procedures to Create a
New Remote Connection Profile
Use the following information when the steps in the
preceding table require supplemental procedures.
Step 1: Start the Create Remote
Connection Profile Wizard
Use this procedure to start the Create Remote
Connection Profile Wizard.
To start the Create Remote
Connection Profile Wizard

In the Configuration Manager console, click Assets
and Compliance.

In the Assets and Compliance workspace, expand
Compliance Settings, and then click Remote Connection
Profiles.

On the Home tab, in the Create group,
click Create Remote Connection Profile.
Step 2: Provide General Information about
the Remote Connection Profile
Use this procedure to provide general information about
the remote connection profile.
To provide general information
about the remote connection profile

On the General page of the Create Remote
Connection Profile Wizard, specify the following
information:
- Name: Enter a unique name for the
remote connection profile. You can use a maximum of 256
characters.
- Description: Enter a description that
gives an overview of the remote connection profile and other
relevant information that helps identify the remote connection
profile in the Configuration Manager console. You can use a maximum
of 256 characters.
Step 3: Configure Settings for the Remote
Connection Profile
Use this procedure to configure settings for the remote
connection profile.
To configure settings for the
remote connection profile

Configure the following Remote Desktop settings:
- Full name and port of the Remote Desktop
Gateway server (optional): - Specify the name of the Remote
Desktop Gateway Server to be used for connections.

Configuration Manager does not support an internationalized
domain name to be used to specify a server in this box.The server
name must be no longer than 256 characters and can contain
uppercase characters, lowercase characters, numeric characters, and
the – and _ characters, which are separated by
periods. |
- Allow connections only from computers that
run Remote Desktop with Network Level Authentication:
-
Select Enabled or Disabled for each of
the following connection settings:
- Allow remote connections to work
computers
- Allow all primary users of the work
computer to remotely connect
- Allow Windows Firewall exception for
connections on Windows domains and on private networks

this page of the wizard. |
Step 4: Complete the Wizard
On the Summary page of the wizard, review the
actions to be taken, and then complete the wizard. The new remote
connection profile is displayed in the Remote Connection
Profiles node in the Assets and Compliance
workspace.
