Collect command line options

Collect is a command line utility that enables you to specify options for obtaining HP specific hardware information from SMS clients. These options enable you to specify the following settings:

  • Specifies the name of the single .MIF output file created by the SMS client. The default file name is COMPAQ.MIF. This output file includes all requested inventory tables.
  • Do not use this option with /M.

Collects server health information.

Drive array

Collects Drive Array information.

All drive array tables

/M

Multiple

Creates multiple output files named COMPAQ0.MIF–COMPAQ9.MIF.

SCSI

Collects SCSI information.

SCSI devices

/SE

Standard Equipment

Collects standard equipment information.

System attributes

/SMS03

SMS 2003

  • Places the .MIF files in the SMS 1.2 NOIDMIF directory on the client machine.
  • Requires either /F or /M.

Storage System

Collects storage system information.

Storage system attributes

/SW

Software Version

Collects software version information.

Software version information

/?

Help

Displays the Collect help screen.

The command line syntax is:

COLLECT [[/M|/SMS03] /F outfile [/H|/I|/SC|/SE|/SS|/SW] |[/?]]

The default command line is typically:

COLLECT /M /SMS03

This command places the resulting .MIF files in the appropriate client directory so SMS can update the database with HP specific inventory information.
