Before contacting HP support

Before contacting HP for support, review the following steps and collect the necessary system information to help expedite a resolution:

1. Review the troubleshooting information found in this guide.

   IMPORTANT: Before proceeding, access the HP website to verify you are using the current version of the HP Management Packs 1.3 for Microsoft® Operations Manager 2005 User Guide. Use the part number and the date on the title page to determine which version you are using. The contents of this guide are updated frequently and newer versions are placed on the HP website. Download and open the updated file to use the current HP Management Packs 1.3 for Microsoft® Operations Manager 2005 User Guide.

2. See the HP website for product updates.
3. If you cannot resolve the problem with the information contained in this guide, have the following information about your MOM environment available:
   • Microsoft® Windows® operating system version and patch levels
   • The HP Management Packs 1.3 for Microsoft® Operations Manager 2005 version installed
   • The versions of Insight Management Agents as associated plug-in tools (such as Version Control Agents and Insight Diagnostics)
   • HP server type and models
   • HP server serial number
   • Screen prints of any error messages received
   • Detailed description of the problem

     NOTE: Running the Microsoft® Information Utility, msinfo32.exe, on your MOM server or capturing server configuration details using HP Survey or Insight Diagnostic might also be useful in providing additional system details for more advanced analysis.
