Before installing, be sure to read the Requirements and
Prerequisites sections of the manual, and that your system complies
with all system requirements and prerequisites.
When the BizTalk Application Management Pack is installed, it
will automatically discover all of the BizTalk servers in your
environment, and then deploy and configure BizTalk monitoring
agents on those servers. If you want to only monitor selected
servers, then you need to configure the server list prior to
installing the BizTalk Application Management Pack.
To include/exclude computers for monitoring, you must modify the
list of monitored servers in the '.NET Enterprise Agent
Deployment Group'
Open the Operations Manager Console
Open the 'Authoring' tab
Select the 'Authoring/Groups' item
Locate the '.NET Enterprise Agent Deployment Group' item in the
list groups
Open the group properties
Manage group members via the tabs 'Explicit Members'/'Dynamic
Members'/'Subgroups'/'Excluded Members'
Unpack the files onto the OpsMgr 2007 Server. The package will
contain:
The Handlers [x.y].msi file,
where [x.y] is the version
number
AVIcode.DotNet.SystemCenter.BizTalk.mp
Install the handlers
Run the Handlers [x.y].msi
file, where [x.y] is the version
number, on the machine where the SE-Viewer is installed
Setup the Management Pack
Open the Operations Manager Console
Go to the "Administration" View
Select the Management Packs node in the
'Administration' tree
Right-click and select 'Import Management Packs…'
Select AVIcode.DotNet.SystemCenter.BizTalk.mp and import
it.
Wait for servers to be discovered see the section on Discovery in this
manual for details
Go to 'Monitoring' 'AVIcode BizTalk application monitoring'
'BizTalk Server
state view'
Wait for all BizTalk servers to be discovered
As each BizTalk Host under 'Monitoring' 'AVIcode BizTalk application
monitoring' 'BizTalk Hosts state view', run the task
'Check BizTalk Server Discovery Account Rights' for each host.
if this task fails
for any of the hosts, please read the Discovery section of this manual.
After the management pack discovers all servers, it will deploy
the agents to them
Wait for the agents to be deployed
You can monitor the progress of agent
deployment from the OpsMgr Operations Console by looking
under "AVIcode .NET Application Monitoring"Monitoring Agent State, where the
agents that have been deployed will appear. If all agents do not
appear in that view, you can check the deployment progress for
success and failures messages via "AVIcode .NET Application
Monitoring"'Management Pack Events'
Upgrade the agents (if necessary)
If an agent was already deployed to the BizTalk
server from the Enterprise Management Pack prior to deploying an
agent from the BizTalk Application Management Pack, then the agent
needs to be upgraded to update the Integration kit.
Go to "AVIcode .NET Application Monitoring" Monitoring Agent State
The version of the Integration Kit version in the Monitoring Agent State
detail view will change.
Activate monitoring
Once BizTalk applications have been
discovered, they will automatically be configured for monitoring as
Windows Services. In order for monitoring to actually begin, those
services must be restarted. Please read the section of the manual
about default configuration monitoring for more information.
Go to AVIcode BizTalk Application Monitoring Server State view
Delete the BizTalk Application Management Pack from OpsMgr
Follow the instructions below for uninstalling the agents
1) All
configuration that is applied for Server Agent remains on all
OpsMgr machines where BizTalk was monitored, 2) Updated version of
Handlers remains on all OpsMgr machines where BizTalk was
monitored. To remove the BizTalk configuration settings manually,
log into each monitored server, open the Intercept MMC,
delete the monitored BizTalk hosts and clear the corresponding
settings in the default configurations.
if the
Management Pack is still installed, and a monitored server is still
included in the '.NET Enterprise Agent Deployment Group' , then the
agent will automatically be re-deployed once it has been removed.
If you wish to permanently remove the agent from a monitored
server, you must first remove the server from the deployment group
(see 'Selecting Servers to Monitor' at the beginning of this
chapter).
Open the OpsMgr Operations Console
If any templates have been added or enabled for soap adapters,
they need to be deleted via 'Authoring''Management Pack Templates''Enterprise ASP.NET Web
Service'; select the template and right click Delete
Go to 'Monitoring'"AVIcode .NET Application
Monitoring"Monitoring Agent State
Select all agents from all BizTalk servers, then select the
action 'Stop Monitoring for All Applications'
to actually permanently uninstall the agents,
you must log into the remote server and remove the agent via
Add/Remove Programs.
Go to 'Monitoring''AVIcode BizTalk Application
Monitoring''BizTalk Server State View'
Select all servers, then select the action 'Restart All BizTalk
Hosts'
This
upgrade process will 1) update all server agent configurations
(including the default configuration), 2) will deploy an updated
version of Handlers to all machines.
Go to AVIcode BizTalk Application Monitoring Server State view
Select all servers
Select 'BizTalk Server Tasks' 'Pause Monitoring All Hosts'
Delete the BizTalk Application Management Pack from OpsMgr
Import the new BizTalk Application Management Pack to
OpsMgr
Run new Handlers setup
Upgrade the agents (if necessary)
If an agent was already deployed to the BizTalk
server from the Enterprise Management Pack prior to deploying an
agent from the BizTalk Application Management Pack, then the agent
needs to be upgraded to update the Integration kit.
