Version 5.7.700 (5.7 RTM)
Problem management: Two new thresholds for “Grooming” were
added
Two new thresholds were added to Option
dialogs of Advisor:
Property
Default Value
Description
Delete events that have status ‘Deleted’ more than N hours
24
Determines period of time after than events that got ‘Deleted’
status will be deleted from database
Delete events that have status ‘By Design’ more than N
hours
72
Determines period of time after than events that got ‘By
Design’ status will be deleted from database
Problem management: Advisor Grooming: Delete events with
Delete, By Design statuses
Events with status Deleted and By Design is
subject for grooming based on specified thresholds in Options
dialog.
Problem Management: Status parameter was added to all
reports
Almost all reports now contain new parameter
Status. This parameter filters events by Problem Management Status.
Default values: New, Reviewed.
Intercept Reporting – Set automatic startup mode
In order to simplify Intercept Reporting
windows service maintenance startup mode was changed to Automatic.
If Reporting is not configured service won’t start and put message
to Event Log

Reports
Support for Microsoft SQL Express 2005 SP3 and 2008
Additional information about feature
comparisons between the different editions of SQL Server may be
found at:
Custom Counter Analysis report - This report provides daily,
weekly and monthly analysis for application specific performance
counters. The report allows to pick up to 6 application specific
counters. It shows KPIs and trends for the selected counters for a
selected period in comparison to a dynamic baseline of previous
periods. The report also allows to compare counters values across
multiple load balanced servers.
All reports support relative dates parameters - Relative date
parameters are required for scheduling reports. Now scheduling of
all reports is supported
Port forwarding is supported - Enable support for the
configuration when Advisor is installed behind firewall (like ISA
Server) with enabled port forwarding.
Custom name for subscription - Subscription wizard allows
specifying custom name for a subscription.
Link to Advisor is added to the e-mail subscription - E-mail
generated by subscription will contain link to original
report.
Pre-loader animation - While report is being generated the
pre-loader is shown.
“Week” baseline - Support of “week" baseline is added to
Application Status, Application Activity Breakdown, Application
Daily Activity reports
Sliding cache of Favorites - Favorites with relative end date
“Today”, “This month: Last Day”, “This Week: Last” are cached till
the end hour when they are executed. That guaranties that report
content will be updated every hour. Favorites with
absolute\relative end date in the past (“yesterday” and so on) are
cached till the end day when they are executed. The daily caching
guaranties quick response for the favorites that do not require
information for a current day. The daily report cache can be
created manually during first report retrieval, or automatically
based on a daily schedule. To enable automatic cache generation,
select option “use cache” in the favorite creation wizard.
Version 5.6.322(RTM)
Reports
Support SEViewer 5.6 including installation over it and
transferring new CSM events
Application groups are merged from several SEViewers during
transfer
Version 5.5.528(RC3)
Reports
New links to event list. Because Advisor can now work
with several SEViewer installations, the event lists have been
redesigned to show and give ability to open events information from
different SEViewer databases. Affected reports:
Application Failure Analysis
Application Performance Analysis
Application Status
Problems Distribution Analysis
Summary Failure Analysis
Summary Performance Analysis
Application Daily Activity
Utilization Trend
Version 5.5.418(RC2)
Reports
Summary User Analysis Report: This report highlights the
application users who experience most of the problems. For each
user the report shows performance, connectivity, security and
application failure problems. For performance problems the reports
shows the top 5 problematic requests for the selected user and how
the response time for that user compares to the average response
time for the system.
Reports are restyled and corrected.
Improved Reports performance:
Application Performance Analysis (40%)
Problems Distribution Analysis (60%)
Summary Failure Analysis (50%)
Summary Performance Analysis (50%)
Problem Analysis Reports\ Application Heavy Resources Analysis
(40%)
Problem Analysis Reports\ Application Slow Request Analysis
(50%)
Application Changes
Changes to Transfer procedure
Configuration Utility:
Report data source supports Integrated Security mode.
DB collation is checked before DB upgrade.
Errors during test can be ignored to save current configuration
and make changes manually.
Advisor Role updated and uses extended set of tasks
Version 5.5.331(RC1)
Reports
Client Side Monitoring Reports [NOTE: These reports require
having a valid Intercept uX license]
Application AJAX Calls Analysis: This report provides detailed
failure analysis for a selected application. It highlights the top
5 application functionality areas that lead to most of the
problems. For each area this report lists the top failure reasons.
This report also provides an analysis based on problem root cause
and shows application functionality areas affected by each type of
problem root cause.
Client Latency Distribution: This report provides an analysis
of client side performance in relation to network latency. Network
Latency indicates the quality of a user connection by measuring the
time for a packet of data to get from the server to the client
browser. This report correlates the number of performance
violations experienced by users with network latency, highlighting
network subnets where users experience most of the problems and
providing network latency information for those subnets.
Load Time Analysis Based on Subnet: This report provides an
analysis of client side performance based on client subnets. The
report identifies client subnets where users experience most of the
problems and shows a response time breakdown for those subnets. The
report analyzes the response time by breaking it down to Network,
Server, DOM load, Peripheral Load and JavaScript Processing times.
The report provides further analysis by highlighting problematic
pages and AJAX calls and shows a response time analysis for
them
Summary Performance Analysis: This report provides an analysis
of performance violations by application. For each application it
lists the top 5 problems for page requests, AJAX calls and
JavaScript Actions and shows them as a percentage of total
performance violations. This report further breaks down the load
time by network, server processing, DOM load, peripheral loading
and JavaScript processing times.
Summary Size Analysis Report: This report provides an analysis
of content size across multiple applications and shows the
correlation between content size and load time. The content size is
broken down by HTML size, Image size, CSS size JavaScript size, and
AJAX size. The report provides further drilldown by showing
information for the top 5 heaviest pages and the top 5 heaviest
AJAX calls for each application.
Application Changes
Event list window: User can open list of events from the report
and then go to every event information on the SEViewer side (if
this event weren’t deleted by Maintenance activity). Note: Only one
report supports on Advisor 5.5 RC this type of event lists – the
Summary Performance Analysis.
DB2 resources: The DB2 resources will be extracted from the
event data and presented on reports.
Favorites: The Favorite functionality works on full throttle
with cache.
Configuration Utility: Advisor configuration utility with
reporting configuration will be used instead of SEViewer one until
Advisor is presented.
